Indication

Tetracycline is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections including respiratory, ENT, genitourinary infections, infections caused by chlamydiae and mycoplasmas, brucellosis, cholera and acne.

Ingredients

• Tetracycline 500 mg

Direction

As directed by the physician. Usual adult dose is 250-500 mg every 6 hours on an empty stomach, or as prescribed.

Side effects

• Nausea
• vomiting or diarrhoea
• Photosensitivity (increased sensitivity to sunlight)
• Tooth discolouration in children
• Skin rash or allergic reactions

Precautions

• Do not use in children under 8 years or during pregnancy and breastfeeding
• Avoid taking with milk
• dairy products
• antacids or iron
• which reduce absorption
• Avoid excessive sun exposure during treatment
