Cotrirol Trimethoprim 40 mg / Sulfamethoxazole 200 mg per 5 mL

Indication

Treatment of infections caused by susceptible organisms, particularly urogenital infections (especially prostate), acute bronchopulmonary infections, infection of the middle ear, and digestive and typhoid fever infections in particular diverticular disease.

Direction

Suspension for infants and children: 6 weeks to 5 months: half a teaspoonful morning and evening; 6 months to 5 years (body weight below 20 kg): 1 teaspoonful morning and evening; 6 to 12 years (body weight above 20 kg): 2 teaspoonfuls morning and evening. On prescription only.

Side effects

• May cause allergic reactions in patients sensitive to sulfonamides. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients with a history of intolerance to any of the components (especially sulfonamides)
