Indication

Treatment of osteoporosis, including postmenopausal osteoporosis and glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis, to increase bone mass and reduce the risk of fractures.

Ingredients

• Alendronate sodium equivalent to Alendronic acid 10 mg

Direction

Take one tablet daily on an empty stomach at least 30 minutes before the first food, drink or medication of the day, with a full glass of plain water. Remain upright and do not lie down for at least 30 minutes. Take as directed by the physician.

Side effects

• May cause abdominal pain
• heartburn
• oesophageal irritation
• nausea
• constipation
• muscle or joint pain. Consult a doctor or pharmacist if side effects occur or persist.

Precautions

• Not suitable for patients with certain oesophageal disorders
• inability to stand or sit upright for 30 minutes
• or low blood calcium. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
• especially if pregnant
• breastfeeding or taking other medicines.
