Getformin 1 mg / 500 mg

Indication

Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve blood sugar control in patients not adequately controlled by metformin or glimepiride alone, combined with diet and exercise. Combines a sulfonylurea (glimepiride) with a biguanide (metformin).

Ingredients

• Glimepiride 1 mg
• Metformin hydrochloride 500 mg

Direction

As directed by the physician. Usually one tablet once or twice daily with meals.

Side effects

• May cause low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia)
• nausea
• diarrhoea
• abdominal discomfort and metallic taste. If side effects persist or worsen
• consult a doctor or pharmacist.

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with kidney or liver impairment. Risk of low blood sugar
• especially if meals are skipped. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use

• breastfeeding or taking other medicines.
