Indication

Treatment of high blood pressure (arterial hypertension) and prevention of chronic stable angina (chest pain). It is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes and widens the blood vessels.

Ingredients

• Nifedipine 20 mg

Direction

Take orally as directed by a physician, usually with or after food. Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew modified-release tablets. Follow the prescribed dose and do not exceed it.

Side effects

• Headache
• flushing and a feeling of warmth
• Ankle or leg swelling (oedema)
• Dizziness and palpitations
• Low blood pressure

Precautions

• Tell your doctor if you have very low blood pressure
• severe heart problems or liver disease
• Avoid grapefruit juice
• which can increase the medicine's effect
• Rise slowly to reduce dizziness
• not recommended in pregnancy unless prescribed
