Diamicron MR 30 mg

Indication

Treatment of type 2 (non-insulin-dependent) diabetes mellitus in adults when diet, exercise and weight loss alone are not sufficient to control blood glucose.

Ingredients

• Gliclazide 30 mg

Direction

Take by mouth once daily at breakfast, swallowed whole. The dose is adjusted by the doctor according to blood glucose response. Do not crush or chew the tablet.

Side effects

• Low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia) with symptoms such as headache
• hunger
• sweating
• trembling or confusion
• Stomach upset
• nausea or abdominal discomfort
• Skin reactions such as rash or itching

Precautions

• Use only under medical supervision and monitor blood glucose regularly.
• Do not skip meals and limit alcohol
• as this increases the risk of low blood sugar
• tell your doctor about kidney or liver problems
• pregnancy or breastfeeding.
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use and stop if any allergic reaction occurs.
