Metformin Denk 1000 mg

Indication

An oral antidiabetic (biguanide) used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus, particularly in overweight patients, when diet and exercise alone do not give adequate blood-sugar control. It may be used alone or together with other antidiabetic medicines or insulin.

Ingredients

• Metformin Hydrochloride

Direction

According to the physician's instructions. Tablets are to be swallowed whole with some liquid, with or after meals. Do not chew.

Side effects

• May cause nausea
• vomiting
• diarrhoea
• abdominal pain
• loss of appetite
• or a metallic taste
• especially at the start of treatment. Rarely
• lactic acidosis and reduced vitamin B12 absorption may occur. Consult a doctor or pharmacist if any side effects occur.

Precautions

• Subject to medical prescription. Not for patients with severe kidney or liver impairment
• or conditions that can cause lactic acidosis. Must be stopped before surgery or examinations with iodinated contrast media. Avoid excessive alcohol. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.
