Indication

Calcium channel blocker used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and to prevent chest pain (angina) caused by coronary artery disease.

Ingredients

• Amlodipine

Direction

Adults: one 5 mg tablet once daily, at the same time each day, with or without food. The dose may be adjusted by a doctor. Do not exceed the indicated dose.

Side effects

• May cause ankle or leg swelling
• headache
• flushing
• dizziness
• tiredness
• palpitations or nausea. Consult a doctor or pharmacist if any side effect occurs or persists.

Precautions

• Not for people allergic to amlodipine or other dihydropyridines
• or with severe low blood pressure or severe aortic stenosis. Use with caution in liver impairment and heart failure. Do not stop treatment suddenly without medical advice. Inform your doctor if pregnant or breastfeeding. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.
