Indication
- Hypertriglyceridemia - Type IV or V hyperlipoproteinemia - Reduce risk of coronary heart disease - Low HDL cholesterol levels
Ingredients
- Gemfibrozil
Direction
Take orally. The recommended dose is 600 mg twice daily, administered 30 minutes before the morning and evening meals.
Side effects
- Abdominal pain
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Dyspepsia
- Fatigue
- Myalgia (muscle pain)
Precautions
- Severe renal or hepatic impairment
- Pre
- existing gallbladder disease
- Risk of myopathy with statins
- Monitor liver function tests
- Hypersensitivity to gemfibrozil
