Mediclovir 50 mg/g (5%)

Indication

Herpes simplex virus infections of the skin and herpes labialis (cold sores), including initial and recurrent genital herpes.

Ingredients

• Acyclovir

Direction

Apply to the affected area 5 times daily at approximately 4-hourly intervals. Continue treatment for 5 days. If healing is not complete after 5 days, treatment may be continued for another 5 days.

• May cause transient burning

• mild dryness
• flaking or itching of the skin at the application site. If symptoms persist or worsen

Precautions

• For external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes
• mouth and mucous membranes. Not for use inside the mouth
• eyes or vagina. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if you are pregnant
• breastfeeding or immunocompromised.
