Indication
- Ventricular arrhythmias - Atrial fibrillation - Paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia - Life-threatening heart rhythm disorders
Ingredients
- Amiodarone Hydrochloride
Direction
Take orally as prescribed, usually starting with a high loading dose followed by a lower maintenance dose. It can be taken with or without food but should be taken consistently.
Side effects
- Nausea and vomiting
- Blue
- gray skin discoloration
- Corneal microdeposits
- Photosensitivity
- Tremor or ataxia
- Hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism
Precautions
- Monitor pulmonary function regularly
- Regular thyroid function tests required
- Avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice
- Risk of severe drug interactions
- Monitor liver function enzymes
- Avoid prolonged sun exposure
