Masterlactate 500 mL

Indication

Sterile intravenous infusion used to replace lost body fluid and electrolytes, for example in dehydration, blood or fluid loss, surgery and burns. Also used as a carrier fluid for intravenous medicines. For use by a healthcare professional only.

Ingredients

• Sodium Lactate 1.55 g per 500 mL
• Sodium Chloride 3.00 g per 500 mL
• Potassium Chloride 0.15 g per 500 mL
• Calcium Chloride 0.10 g per 500 mL

Direction

Intravenously as directed by a physician. The dose and infusion rate are determined by the doctor according to the patient's age, weight, clinical condition and fluid and electrolyte balance. Refer to the package insert for indications, contraindications, adverse reactions and precautions. Single use only.

Side effects

• Possible reactions include pain
• irritation or inflammation of the vein at the infusion site
• fluid overload

Precautions

• For intravenous use only and must be administered by a healthcare professional. Do not use if the solution is not clear or contains particles
• or if the container is damaged. Use with caution in people with heart failure
