Indication

Sterile intravenous infusion used to replace lost body fluid and electrolytes, for example in dehydration, blood or fluid loss, surgery and burns. Also used as a carrier fluid for intravenous medicines. For use by a healthcare professional only.

Ingredients

• Sodium lactate 0.32 g per 100 mL
• Sodium chloride 0.6 g per 100 mL
• Potassium chloride 0.04 g per 100 mL
• Calcium chloride 0.027 g per 100 mL

Direction

For intravenous infusion by a healthcare professional. The dose and infusion rate are determined by the doctor according to the patient's age, weight, clinical condition and fluid and electrolyte balance. Read the leaflet for indications, contraindications, dosage and administration. Single use only.

Side effects

• Possible reactions include pain
• irritation or inflammation of the vein at the infusion site
• fluid overload

Precautions

• For intravenous use only and must be administered by a healthcare professional. Do not use if the container is found leaking upon squeezing or if the solution is not clear
• solutions containing visible solid particles must not be used. Use with caution in people with heart failure
• kidney disease or liver disease. Keep medicines out of reach of children. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.
