Indication
- Hyperthyroidism - Preparation for thyroid surgery - Graves' disease - Treatment before and after radio-iodine therapy
Ingredients
- Carbimazole
Direction
Take orally as a single daily dose or in divided doses as prescribed. Dose is adjusted based on thyroid function tests.
Side effects
- Skin rash and itching
- Nausea and headache
- Joint pain (arthralgia)
- Agranulocytosis (low white cell count)
- Hair thinning
Precautions
- Risk of bone marrow suppression
- Report sore throat or fever immediately
- Monitor liver function regularly
- Use with caution during pregnancy
- Risk of congenital malformations
