Indication

Emergency contraception after unprotected sexual intercourse or failure of a contraceptive method; it does not interrupt an established pregnancy.

Ingredients

• Levonorgestrel 1.5 mg

Direction

Take one 1.5 mg tablet as soon as possible after unprotected intercourse, within 72 hours as stated on the package. If vomiting occurs within 2 hours, consult a health professional because another dose may be needed.

Side effects

• Possible effects include nausea
• vomiting
• fatigue
• abdominal discomfort
• headache
• dizziness
• breast tenderness
• and slight irregular vaginal bleeding. These effects are usually mild and resolve without treatment.

Precautions

• For emergency use
• not regular contraception. It does not protect against sexually transmitted infections. Consult a doctor or pharmacist if the next period is more than a week late
• unusually light
• or accompanied by severe lower abdominal pain.
