Augmentin Amoxicillin 500 mg + Clavulanic acid 125 mg

Indication

Prescription treatment of susceptible bacterial infections when amoxicillin/clavulanate is clinically appropriate.

Ingredients

• Amoxicillin 500 mg (as amoxicillin trihydrate)
• Clavulanic acid 125 mg (as potassium clavulanate)

Direction

Take exactly as prescribed, preferably at the start of a meal, and complete the prescribed course. The dose and interval depend on the infection and patient factors.

Side effects

• Diarrhea
• nausea
• vomiting
• indigestion or rash may occur.
• Stop and seek urgent care for breathing difficulty
• facial swelling
• severe rash
• jaundice
• or severe or bloody diarrhea.

Precautions

• Do not use with serious penicillin or other beta
• lactam allergy
• or previous amoxicillin/clavulanate
• associated jaundice or liver dysfunction.
• Use only for proven or strongly suspected bacterial infection. Dose adjustment or monitoring may be required with kidney or liver impairment and anticoagulant therapy.
