Epharyl Nifuroxazide 200 mg

Indication

Short-term treatment of presumed acute bacterial diarrhea without invasive signs, together with appropriate diet and rehydration.

Ingredients

• Nifuroxazide 200 mg

Direction

Adults: 4 capsules (800 mg) daily in 2 to 4 divided doses. Children from 6 years: 3 to 4 capsules daily in 2 to 4 divided doses. Limit treatment to 7 days and prioritize oral or intravenous rehydration according to severity.

Side effects

• Abdominal pain
• nausea
• vomiting or worsening diarrhea may occur.
• Stop and seek care for rash
• swelling
• breathing difficulty or another allergic reaction.

Precautions

• Seek urgent medical care for fever
• bloody stool
• severe weakness
• persistent symptoms or signs of dehydration
• this medicine does not replace rehydration.
• Do not use in children under 6 years
• ask a clinician before use in pregnancy or breastfeeding.
