Indication

Prescription adjunct for acute diarrhea in children together with oral rehydration.

Ingredients

• Racecadotril 30 mg per sachet
• contains sucrose.

Direction

Give only at the prescribed weight-based dose and duration; mix the sachet as directed in the package leaflet and continue oral rehydration.

Side effects

• May cause headache
• rash
• redness or allergic swelling
• severe skin reactions are rare.

Precautions

• Prescription medicine. Oral rehydration remains essential. Seek urgent care for blood in stool
• high fever
• persistent vomiting
• dehydration or facial swelling.
