Coversyl Plus 5mg / 1.25mg

Indication

Coversyl Plus is a combination antihypertensive containing an ACE inhibitor (Perindopril) and a thiazide-like diuretic (Indapamide). It is used for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults when blood pressure is adequately controlled on both components given individually at the same doses.

Ingredients

• Perindopril arginine 5 mg
• Indapamide 1.25 mg

Direction

Adults: One tablet once daily, taken orally in the morning before a meal. Swallow with water.

Side effects

• Common: dry cough
• headache
• dizziness
• asthenia.
• Common: nausea
• vomiting
• abdominal pain
• diarrhoea
• constipation.
• Common: electrolyte disturbances (hypokalaemia
• hyponatraemia).
• Uncommon: angioedema (stop immediately — seek emergency care).
• Uncommon: hypotension
• orthostatic hypotension.
• Rare: severe skin reactions (photosensitivity
• rash).

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to perindopril
• other ACE inhibitors
• indapamide
• or sulphonamides.
• Contraindicated in history of angioedema associated with ACE inhibitor therapy.
• Contraindicated in pregnancy (2nd and 3rd trimesters) and breastfeeding.
• Contraindicated in severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance < 30 mL/min) and anuria.
• Contraindicated in severe hepatic encephalopathy.
• Monitor electrolytes (potassium
• sodium
• calcium) and renal function.
• Risk of hypokalaemia with diuretic use.
• May cause dry cough.
