Tamsolin 0.4 mg

Indication

Tamsolin contains Tamsulosin hydrochloride, an alpha-1 adrenoceptor antagonist (alpha-blocker) used to relieve the signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) such as urinary hesitancy, weak stream, frequency, and nocturia.

Ingredients

• Tamsulosin hydrochloride 0.4 mg

Direction

Adults (males): One capsule (0.4 mg) once daily, orally, taken approximately 30 minutes after the same meal each day. Swallow whole without chewing or crushing.

Side effects

• Common: dizziness
• abnormal ejaculation (retrograde ejaculation).
• Common: headache
• asthenia.
• Uncommon: orthostatic hypotension
• palpitations
• rhinitis.
• Rare: syncope
• priapism (prolonged erection — seek immediate medical attention).
• Rare: severe skin reactions (Stevens
• Johnson syndrome).

Precautions

• Orthostatic hypotension may occur
• use caution when rising from sitting or lying.
• Contraindicated in history of orthostatic hypotension.
• Use with caution in severe renal impairment.
• Caution with concomitant use of antihypertensives
• other alpha
• blockers
• or PDE
• 5 inhibitors.
• Intraoperative Floppy Iris Syndrome (IFIS) may occur during cataract surgery — inform ophthalmologist before any eye surgery.
• Not for use in women or children.
