Salbular-2 2 mg

Indication

Salbular-2 contains salbutamol (albuterol), a short-acting beta-2 adrenergic agonist used for relief and prevention of bronchospasm in conditions such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The oral tablet form provides systemic bronchodilation.

Ingredients

• Salbutamol 2 mg

Direction

Adults: 2–4 mg (1–2 tablets) 3–4 times daily. Children 6–12 years: 2 mg 3–4 times daily. Children 2–6 years: 1–2 mg 3–4 times daily, as directed by a physician. Maximum adult dose: 32 mg per day.

Side effects

• Tremor (hands).
• Palpitations and tachycardia.
• Headache.
• Muscle cramps.
• Hypokalaemia with high doses.
• Nervousness and restlessness.

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease
• hypertension
• hyperthyroidism
• or diabetes.
• May cause paradoxical bronchospasm
• discontinue if this occurs.
• Use with caution during pregnancy.
• May interact with beta
• blockers (reduced effect)
• MAOIs
• and tricyclic antidepressants (increased cardiovascular risk).
• Monitor potassium levels in patients on high doses.
