XLH-KIT Tinidazole 500 mg, Clarithromycin 250 mg, Lansoprazole 30 mg

Indication

XLH-KIT is a combination regimen kit used for eradication of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) as part of triple therapy. Tinidazole acts against H. pylori and anaerobic bacteria; clarithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic; lansoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that reduces gastric acid to support healing.

Ingredients

• Tinidazole 500 mg
• Clarithromycin 250 mg
• Lansoprazole 30 mg

Direction

Adults: Typically, all three components are taken twice daily for 7–14 days as directed by a physician. Lansoprazole should be taken before meals; tinidazole and clarithromycin with food. Complete the full course even if symptoms improve.

Side effects

• Nausea
• vomiting
• and metallic taste (tinidazole).
• Diarrhoea and abdominal discomfort.
• Headache.
• Abnormal taste (clarithromycin).
• Elevated liver enzymes.
• QT prolongation (rare
• clarithromycin).
• Dark urine (tinidazole).

Precautions

• Avoid alcohol during and for 72 hours after tinidazole (disulfiram
• like reaction).
• Clarithromycin is a potent CYP3A4 inhibitor — many drug interactions (statins
• warfarin
• ciclosporin
• ergotamine).
• QT prolongation risk (clarithromycin).
• Not recommended in first trimester of pregnancy (tinidazole) or pregnancy in general (clarithromycin).
• Lansoprazole may mask symptoms of gastric cancer.
• Use with caution in hepatic impairment.
