SUTRA Suspension Sucralfate 1 g per 15 ml sachet

Indication

SUTRA Suspension contains sucralfate, a cytoprotective agent used for treatment and maintenance of duodenal and gastric ulcers, stress-related mucosal damage, and oesophagitis. Sucralfate forms a protective barrier over ulcer sites, shielding them from acid, pepsin, and bile.

Ingredients

• Sucralfate 1 g per 15 ml sachet

Direction

Adults: 1 sachet (1 g) 4 times daily on an empty stomach (1 hour before meals and at bedtime) for 4–8 weeks. Shake well before use.

Side effects

• Constipation (most common).
• Dry mouth.
• Nausea and gastric discomfort.
• Dizziness (rare).
• Aluminium toxicity (rare
• in renal failure patients).

Precautions

• Take on an empty stomach — do not take within 30 minutes of antacids or other medications.
• Use with caution in patients with chronic renal failure (aluminium accumulation).
• May reduce absorption of other medications — take other drugs 2 hours before sucralfate.
• Use with caution during pregnancy — consult physician.
• Avoid in patients with difficulty swallowing or who cannot take oral medications.
