Indication
Used for symptomatic treatment of acute non-specific diarrhoea and chronic diarrhoea. Reduces intestinal motility and secretion.
Ingredients
- Loperamide Hydrochloride 2 mg
Direction
Adults: 2 capsules (4 mg) initially, then 1 capsule (2 mg) after each loose stool. Maximum 8 capsules per day. Children (8β12 years): 1 capsule up to 3 times daily.
Side effects
- Constipation
- abdominal pain.
- Nausea
- dizziness.
- Rare: paralytic ileus.
Precautions
- Do not use in dysentery
- blood in stool
- or pseudomembranous colitis.
- Not for children under 8 years.
- Ensure fluid and electrolyte replacement.
- Consult a doctor if no improvement in 48 hours.
- Keep out of reach of children.
