Gaviscon Sodium alginate 500 mg + sodium bicarbonate 267 mg per 10 mL sachet

Indication

Symptomatic treatment of gastro-oesophageal reflux, including heartburn, acid regurgitation and sour stomach.

Ingredients

• Sodium alginate 500 mg per 10 mL sachet
• Sodium bicarbonate 267 mg per 10 mL sachet

Direction

For oral use. Adults and children older than 12 years: take 1 sachet three times daily after the three main meals, and optionally at bedtime. The dose may be doubled for severe reflux or oesophageal inflammation as directed by a healthcare professional. Massage the sachet well before opening.

Side effects

• Very rarely
• an allergic reaction may occur
• with rash
• itching
• breathing difficulty
• dizziness
• or swelling of the face
• lips
• tongue
• or throat. Stop taking the medicine and seek urgent medical advice if these occur.

Precautions

• Each sachet contains sodium and calcium. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if following a salt
• restricted diet or if you have heart or kidney disease
• high blood calcium
• nephrocalcinosis
• or kidney stones.
• The methyl and propyl parahydroxybenzoates in the product may cause allergic reactions
• possibly delayed.
• As a precaution
• separate this medicine from other oral medicines by 2 hours. Seek medical advice if symptoms worsen or persist
• or if more than 2 sachets daily are needed for a prolonged period.
