Livofx 500 mg

Indication

A fluoroquinolone antibacterial for infections caused by designated susceptible bacteria, including certain respiratory, skin, urinary and prostate infections. Use only for proven or strongly suspected bacterial infection and as prescribed.

Ingredients

• Levofloxacin 500 mg (as levofloxacin hemihydrate)

Direction

For oral use. Take exactly as directed by a physician; dose and duration depend on the infection and kidney function. Separate from antacids, iron, zinc and other products containing multivalent cations by at least 2 hours.

Side effects

• Common effects can include nausea
• headache
• diarrhea
• constipation
• insomnia and dizziness. Serious reactions can include tendon injury
• peripheral neuropathy and central nervous system effects.

Precautions

• Prescription medicine
• use only as directed by a physician and only for bacterial infection. Levofloxacin can cause serious
• potentially disabling tendon injury or rupture
• peripheral neuropathy and central nervous system effects
• stop and seek medical advice if these occur. It can worsen myasthenia gravis
• avoid in people with a history of this condition. Kidney impairment may require dose adjustment. Tell the prescriber about other medicines and medical conditions.
