Square Zinc 20 20 mg elemental zinc

Indication

Treatment of diarrhea, especially in children 2 months to 5 years together with oral rehydration salts, and treatment of zinc deficiency.

Ingredients

• Zinc sulfate monohydrate equivalent to 20 mg elemental zinc

Direction

Disperse the tablet in an adequate amount of water in a teaspoon, allow it to dissolve, and give the entire spoonful. For diarrhea, use the age-appropriate dose with oral rehydration salts for 10–14 days as directed by a clinician. Follow the leaflet or physician's instructions for other indications.

Side effects

• May cause nausea
• vomiting
• stomach discomfort
• or other gastrointestinal upset.

Precautions

• Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to zinc. Zinc may reduce absorption of tetracyclines
• separate doses by at least 3 hours. Use with penicillamine may reduce its effect. Follow a clinician's advice for dose and duration. Seek medical advice if symptoms persist or worsen.
