AMLO® 5 mg

Indication

AMLO® (amlodipine) is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker used for the treatment of hypertension and chronic stable angina. It reduces blood pressure and myocardial oxygen demand.

Ingredients

• Amlodipine 5 mg (as amlodipine besylate)

Direction

Adults: 5 mg once daily; may be increased to 10 mg once daily as needed. Take at the same time each day, with or without food.

Side effects

• Peripheral oedema (ankle/foot swelling) — most common.
• Flushing.
• Headache.
• Dizziness.
• Palpitations.
• Fatigue.

Precautions

• Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to amlodipine or other dihydropyridine compounds.
• Use with caution in severe aortic stenosis.
• May cause peripheral oedema — monitor patients regularly.
• Use with caution in hepatic impairment.
• Keep out of reach of children.
