Gutset Domperidone BP 5 mg / 5 mL

Indication

Relief of nausea and vomiting, and symptoms of bloating, abdominal discomfort, and regurgitation associated with delayed gastric emptying.

Ingredients

• Domperidone 5 mg per 5 mL

Direction

Adults and children over 12 years (body weight ≥35 kg): 10 mg (10 mL) up to three times daily before meals. Children under 12 years: 0.25 mg/kg body weight up to three times daily before meals. Do not exceed recommended dose. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible time.

Side effects

• Dry mouth.
• Headache.
• Galactorrhoea or gynaecomastia (rare
• with long
• term use).
• QT prolongation (rare).
• Extrapyramidal reactions (rare
• especially in young children).

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to domperidone.
• Contraindicated in patients with prolactin
• releasing pituitary tumour.
• Contraindicated with potent CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g. ketoconazole
• erythromycin) due to risk of QT prolongation.
• Use with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment.
• Not recommended for use in preterm infants.
• Risk of cardiac effects including QT prolongation at higher doses.
• Keep out of reach of children.
