Indication
Mucolytic for cough with thick mucus: breaks down phlegm, dissolves mucus and relieves cough in acute and chronic respiratory conditions with viscous secretions.
Ingredients
- Acetylcysteine 200 mg per 1 g sachet
Direction
Dissolve the contents of one sachet in a glass of water before taking. Adults and children over 7 years: 1 sachet 3 times daily. Children 2 to 7 years: 1 sachet 2 times daily. Or as directed by a physician; read the package insert before use.
Side effects
- Nausea
- vomiting or diarrhoea
- Stomach discomfort
- Skin rash or itching (rare)
- Bronchospasm in patients with asthma (rare)
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist if any side effect is troublesome or persists
- and stop use if an allergic reaction occurs.
Precautions
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Do not use in children under 2 years of age or in patients allergic to acetylcysteine.
- Use with caution in patients with asthma or a history of bronchospasm
- or with peptic ulcer.
- Do not take with cough suppressants (antitussives).
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if pregnant or breastfeeding.
