Indication
Flixonase is a corticosteroid nasal spray used for the prevention and treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever) and perennial rhinitis, relieving nasal congestion, sneezing, runny and itchy nose.
Ingredients
- Fluticasone propionate 0.05% w/w (50 micrograms per metered spray)
Direction
For nasal use only. Shake gently before use. Adults and children 12 years and over: 2 sprays into each nostril once daily, preferably in the morning (up to twice daily if needed); once symptoms are controlled, 1 spray into each nostril once daily may be enough. Children 4 to 11 years: 1 spray into each nostril once daily (up to twice daily), as directed by a physician. Read the leaflet before use.
Side effects
- Nosebleeds (epistaxis)
- Dryness or irritation of the nose and throat
- Headache
- unpleasant taste or smell
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist if any side effect is troublesome or persists
- and stop use if an allergic reaction occurs.
Precautions
- Keep all medicines out of the reach of children.
- Only use in your nose
- to be used as directed by your physician.
- Tell your doctor if you take ritonavir or other strong CYP3A4 inhibitors
- have a nasal infection
- recent nasal surgery or injury
- or eye problems such as glaucoma or cataract.
- Long
- term use at high doses in children may affect growth
- use the lowest effective dose.
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
