Indication
Prevention and treatment of calcium deficiency; in combination with other treatments to prevent and treat osteoporosis; as a supplement to vitamin D3 in the treatment of rickets and osteomalacia.
Ingredients
- Elemental calcium 500 mg (12.5 mmol) per effervescent tablet
- as calcium gluconolactate 1132 mg and calcium carbonate 875 mg
Direction
Oral use. Children: one effervescent tablet once or twice a day. Adults: one effervescent tablet one, two or three times a day. Dissolve the tablet in a large glass of water (about 200 ml) before drinking. Read the leaflet before use.
Side effects
- Constipation
- flatulence or nausea
- Diarrhoea or abdominal discomfort
- High calcium levels in the blood or urine with prolonged high doses
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist if any side effect is troublesome or persists
- and stop use if an allergic reaction occurs.
Precautions
- Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
- Do not use in case of high blood calcium
- high urinary calcium or calcium kidney stones
- consult a doctor if you have kidney disease.
- Contains aspartame (a source of phenylalanine)
- sorbitol
- sodium
- glucose
- benzyl alcohol and sulphur dioxide (E220)
- take this into account for phenylketonuria
- low
- sodium diets
- sugar intolerance or sulphite sensitivity.
- Separate intake from tetracyclines
- quinolone antibiotics
- bisphosphonates
- iron and thyroid hormones by a few hours
- tell your doctor if you take digoxin or thiazide diuretics.
