Indication
Broad-spectrum antifungal and trichomonacide for the treatment of vaginal yeast infections (vaginal candidiasis / thrush) and other vaginal infections caused by clotrimazole-sensitive fungi.
Ingredients
- Clotrimazole USP 500 mg per vaginal insert
Direction
For vaginal use only; do not swallow. Adults: insert one vaginal tablet (500 mg) as deep as possible into the vagina using the applicator provided, preferably at bedtime, as a single dose. Wash hands before and after use. Refer to the package insert for full directions.
Side effects
- Local burning
- itching
- redness
- swelling or discomfort in or around the vagina
- Lower abdominal cramps or pain
- Rarely
- allergic reactions such as rash
- itching
- or swelling of the face or lips
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist if any side effect is troublesome or persists
- and stop use if an allergic reaction occurs.
Precautions
- Do not use if allergic to clotrimazole or other azole antifungals.
- Consult a doctor before use if this is your first vaginal infection
- if symptoms recur frequently
- or if you have fever
- abdominal pain or unusual discharge.
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding
- during pregnancy insert without the applicator or as advised by a doctor.
- May damage latex condoms and diaphragms
- avoid sexual intercourse during treatment.
- Keep out of reach of children.
