Loramide 2 mg

Indication

Antidiarrheal indicated for the control and symptomatic relief of acute non-specific diarrhea and of chronic diarrhea associated with inflammatory bowel disease.

Ingredients

• Loperamide hydrochloride 2 mg

Direction

Oral route, on physician's prescription. Acute diarrhea in adults: usually 2 capsules (4 mg) initially, then 1 capsule (2 mg) after each loose stool; do not exceed 8 capsules (16 mg) per day. Refer to the package insert for full details.

Precautions

• Not recommended for children under 6 years of age
• Do not use if allergic to loperamide or any ingredient
• Do not use in bloody diarrhea
• high fever
• acute dysentery
• acute ulcerative colitis or antibiotic
• associated colitis
• Stop use and consult a doctor if constipation
• abdominal distension or ileus develops
• or if diarrhea does not improve within 48 hours
• Replace lost fluids and electrolytes during diarrhea
• Use with caution in liver impairment
• do not exceed the recommended dose
• Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
• To be dispensed on physician's prescription
