Nifuerce 200 mg

Indication

Intestinal antibacterial (nitrofuran) for the treatment of acute diarrhoea of presumed bacterial origin without signs of invasive infection, used together with rehydration.

Ingredients

• Nifuroxazide 200 mg

Direction

Oral route. Adults: 1 capsule (200 mg) 4 times a day (800 mg per day), swallowed with water. Treatment usually lasts up to 3 days; do not continue beyond 3 days without consulting a doctor. Follow the prescribed doses and read the leaflet carefully.

Side effects

• Allergic skin reactions such as rash
• itching or hives
• Rarely
• swelling of the face or throat or anaphylactic reaction
• stop use and seek medical help immediately
• Occasional stomach discomfort

Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to nifuroxazide
• other nitrofuran derivatives or any ingredient
• Always replace lost fluids (oral rehydration) during diarrhoea
• See a doctor if diarrhoea persists beyond 3 days
• or if there is fever
• blood or mucus in the stool
• or vomiting
• Avoid alcohol during treatment
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if pregnant or breastfeeding
• Follow the prescribed doses
• keep out of the reach and sight of children
