Indication
Nasal decongestant for the relief of nasal congestion associated with the common cold, acute or chronic rhinitis, sinusitis, hay fever and upper respiratory allergies.
Ingredients
- Oxymetazoline Hydrochloride BP 25 mcg per metered spray
Direction
For intranasal use only. Shake gently before use. Adults and children over 10 years: 1-2 sprays in each nostril every 12 hours. Children 6-10 years: 1 spray in each nostril every 12 hours. Do not exceed 8 sprays in 24 hours for adults (4 for children). Do not use for more than 3-5 days unless directed by a physician.
Side effects
- Temporary burning
- stinging or dryness of the nose
- Sneezing or increased nasal discharge
- Dryness of the mouth and throat
- Rebound nasal congestion with prolonged or excessive use
- Rarely headache
- nervousness
- fast heartbeat or difficulty sleeping
- Stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist if side effects persist or allergy occurs
Precautions
- To be dispensed only by or on the prescription of a registered physician
- Do not use if allergic to oxymetazoline or any ingredient
- Do not use for more than 3
- 5 days continuously to avoid rebound congestion
- Do not exceed the stated dose
- Do not spray in the eyes
- Use with caution in high blood pressure
- heart disease
- thyroid disease
- diabetes or enlarged prostate
- and in patients taking MAO inhibitors
- Not for children under 6 years
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if pregnant or breastfeeding
- Keep out of reach of children
