Indication
Mild topical corticosteroid for the treatment of eczema, infantile eczema, atopic dermatitis, dermatitis herpetiformis, contact dermatitis, seborrhoeic dermatitis, neurodermatitis, forms of psoriasis and intertrigo.
Ingredients
- Hydrocortisone Acetate BP 1.0% w/w
- Methyl Paraben 0.15% w/w (preservative)
- Propyl Paraben 0.08% w/w (preservative)
Direction
For external use only. Apply a thin layer to the affected skin area one to three times daily. When dilution is required, the diluted cream should not be used two weeks after issue. Do not use for longer than directed.
Side effects
- Local burning
- itching
- irritation or dryness
- With prolonged or extensive use: skin thinning
- stretch marks
- acne
- like eruptions or changes in skin colour
- Rarely
- allergic contact dermatitis
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if you have any concerns
Precautions
- Contraindicated in tuberculous skin infection
- fungal infection
- herpes simplex
- vaccinia and varicella
- For external use only
- avoid contact with eyes
- Do not use on large areas
- under occlusive dressings or for prolonged periods
- especially in infants and children
- Controlled medicine: use under medical advice
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before use
