Indication
Iron, folic acid and zinc supplement for the prevention and treatment of iron-deficiency anaemia and nutritional anaemia, including during pregnancy and lactation, after blood loss, and in conditions with increased iron and folate requirements.
Ingredients
- Ferrous Ascorbate eq. to Elemental Iron 100 mg
- Folic Acid BP 1.5 mg
- Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate BP eq. to Elemental Zinc 22.5 mg
Direction
Oral use. Dosage as directed by the physician; usually 1 tablet daily, swallowed whole with water, preferably after a meal.
Side effects
- Nausea
- stomach upset or abdominal discomfort
- Constipation or diarrhoea
- Dark or black stools (harmless)
- Metallic taste
- Rarely
- allergic reactions
- stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist
Precautions
- Do not use in iron overload conditions (haemochromatosis
- haemosiderosis) or anaemia not caused by iron deficiency
- Do not take with antacids
- tea
- coffee
- milk or tetracyclines at the same time
- separate by at least 2 hours
- Do not exceed the recommended dose
- accidental iron overdose is dangerous to children
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if pregnant
- breastfeeding or with peptic ulcer or bowel disease
- Keep the medicine out of reach of children
