Indication
Appetite stimulant syrup for poor appetite, loss of weight and under-nutrition in children and adults, e.g. during convalescence; cyproheptadine stimulates appetite while L-lysine and peptone provide nutritional support.
Ingredients
- Cyproheptadine hydrochloride BP (anhydrous) 2 mg/5 ml
- L
- Lysine monohydrochloride USP 150 mg/5 ml
- Peptone 25 mg/5 ml
Direction
Oral. Children 2-6 years: 1 teaspoonful (5 ml) 3 times a day. Children 7-14 years: 1 or 2 teaspoonfuls 3 times a day. Adults: 2 teaspoonfuls (10 ml) 3 times a day, or as directed by the physician. Shake well before use.
Side effects
- Drowsiness or sedation
- especially when first taken
- Dizziness
- Dry mouth
- nausea or constipation
- Increased weight
- Excitation or irritability in some children
- Rarely
- allergic reactions such as rash

Precautions
