NANCLOVIR CREAM 5g + 5%

Indication

Antiviral cream used for the topical treatment of herpes simplex infections of the skin, including cold sores (herpes labialis) and genital herpes.

Ingredients

• Acyclovir 5% (w/w) cream
• 5 g tube

Direction

Adults and children over 12 years: Apply a thin layer to the affected area 5 times daily (every 4 hours during waking hours) for 5–10 days. Begin treatment as early as possible at the first sign of symptoms.

Side effects

• Local burning
• stinging
• or itching at application site.
• Transient skin dryness or flaking.
• Rarely: allergic contact dermatitis.

Precautions

• For external use only.
• Avoid application to eyes or mucous membranes.
• Wash hands before and after application.
• Not a cure for herpes — virus remains latent after lesions heal.
• Keep out of reach of children.
