Clarimin 500 mg

Indication

Macrolide antibiotic for bacterial infections such as respiratory tract infections (pharyngitis, sinusitis, bronchitis, pneumonia), skin and soft-tissue infections, and as part of Helicobacter pylori eradication therapy.

Ingredients

• Clarithromycin USP 500 mg

Direction

Take by mouth as directed by the physician. Complete the full course even if you feel better.

Side effects

• Nausea
• diarrhoea
• abdominal pain
• taste disturbance
• Headache
• insomnia
• Allergic skin rash
• rarely liver problems or irregular heartbeat (QT prolongation)

Precautions

• Prescription only medicine.
• Do not use if allergic to clarithromycin or other macrolides (erythromycin
• azithromycin).
• Many drug interactions (e.g. statins
• colchicine
• ergotamine
• some heart medicines)
• tell your doctor about all medicines you take.
• Use with caution in liver or kidney disease
• heart rhythm problems
• pregnancy and breastfeeding.
