Indication

Treatment of the urinary symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate), such as difficulty starting urination, weak stream and frequent urination.

Ingredients

• Tamsulosin hydrochloride 0.4 mg (modified
• release pellets)

Direction

As directed by the physician. Usual adult dose is one 0.4 mg capsule once daily, taken about 30 minutes after the same meal each day. Swallow whole; do not crush, chew or open the capsule.

Side effects

• Dizziness or light
• headedness
• especially when standing up
• Abnormal or reduced ejaculation
• Runny or stuffy nose
• Headache
• Weakness or drowsiness
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use and stop if irritation or allergy occurs.

Precautions

• May cause a sudden drop in blood pressure on standing
• rise slowly and avoid driving until you know how it affects you
• Tell your eye surgeon you take tamsulosin before cataract or glaucoma surgery (floppy iris syndrome)
• Use with caution with other alpha
• blockers
• blood
• pressure medicines
• or strong CYP3A4 inhibitors
• Seek urgent help for a painful erection lasting more than 4 hours
• Prescription medicine
