Indication
Sulfonylurea used to control blood sugar in adults with type 2 (non-insulin-dependent) diabetes when diet, exercise and weight loss alone are not enough.
Ingredients
- Gliclazide 30 mg (extended release)
Direction
Swallow whole (do not crush or chew) once daily with breakfast, as prescribed. Usual dose 30–120 mg once daily, adjusted by the doctor. Do not exceed the prescribed dose.
Side effects
- Low blood sugar (sweating
- shakiness
- hunger
- confusion)
- Stomach pain
- nausea
- diarrhoea or constipation
- Skin rash or itching
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use and stop if an allergic reaction occurs.
Precautions
- Do not use in type 1 diabetes
- diabetic ketoacidosis
- pregnancy
- breastfeeding or severe liver or kidney disease.
- Eat regular meals
- alcohol
- skipped meals and other glucose
- lowering drugs increase the risk of low blood sugar.
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use and stop if an allergic reaction occurs.
