Aldactone 25 mg

Indication

Potassium-sparing diuretic for essential hypertension and oedematous disorders (such as heart failure, liver cirrhosis and nephrotic syndrome), and for primary hyperaldosteronism.

• High blood potassium (hyperkalaemia)
• Breast enlargement or tenderness (gynaecomastia)

Precautions

• Prescription only
• Do not use in hyperkalaemia
• severe kidney impairment
• anuria or Addison's disease
• Avoid potassium supplements and potassium
• based salt substitutes
• caution with ACE inhibitors
• ARBs and NSAIDs — potassium and kidney function should be monitored
• Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a doctor
