Indication

Topical antiseptic solution for disinfecting the skin and for cleaning and preventing infection in minor cuts, scrapes, burns and wounds; also used for skin preparation before injections or minor procedures.

Ingredients

• Povidone
• iodine 10% (equivalent to 1% available iodine)

Direction

Read the leaflet carefully. Clean the affected area, then apply a small amount of solution directly or with sterile gauze/cotton 1 to 3 times daily. The treated area may be covered with a sterile dressing. For external use only.

Side effects

• Local skin irritation
• redness or itching
• Allergic skin reaction (rare)
• Temporary brown staining of skin

Precautions

• For external use only
• do not swallow.
• Do not use if allergic to iodine or povidone
• iodine.
• Avoid prolonged use on large areas or deep wounds
• and in people with thyroid disorders
• during pregnancy or breastfeeding
• unless advised by a doctor.
• Keep away from the eyes.
