Ventolin Inhaler 100 mcg/actuation (200 actuations)

Indication

Bronchodilator for the relief and prevention of bronchospasm in asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including prevention of exercise- or allergen-induced asthma.

Ingredients

• Salbutamol (as salbutamol sulfate) 100 mcg per actuation

Direction

Shake well before use. Adults: 1-2 puffs (100-200 mcg) for relief of acute bronchospasm; 2 puffs 10-15 minutes before exercise or allergen exposure. Children: 1 puff (100 mcg), increased to 2 puffs if required. Do not exceed 8 puffs (800 mcg) in 24 hours. Use as prescribed; see enclosed package insert.

• Fast heartbeat or palpitations
• Muscle cramps
• mouth and throat irritation
• Rarely low blood potassium
• paradoxical bronchospasm or allergic reactions

Precautions

• Prescription medicine
• seek medical advice if the usual dose becomes less effective or is needed more often.
• Use with caution in heart disease
• hyperthyroidism
• hypertension or diabetes.
• High doses may lower blood potassium
• especially with steroids
• diuretics or xanthines.
• Ask a doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
