Getformin 2 mg / 500 mg

Indication

Adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycaemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus not adequately controlled on glimepiride or metformin alone.

Ingredients

• Glimepiride USP 2 mg
• Metformin HCl USP 500 mg

Direction

As directed by the physician or see package insert for full prescribing information. Take with meals.

Side effects

• Low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia): sweating
• shakiness
• hunger
• dizziness
• Nausea
• diarrhoea
• abdominal discomfort or metallic taste
• Rarely lactic acidosis
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use and stop if irritation or allergy occurs.

Precautions

• Not for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis
• do not use with severe kidney or liver impairment
• Avoid alcohol
• may need to be stopped before iodinated contrast or surgery
• not for use in pregnancy
