Telfast 120mg

Indication

Telfast 120 mg is a non-sedating antihistamine used for the relief of symptoms associated with seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever) such as sneezing, runny and itchy nose, and itchy, watery eyes, and for the symptomatic relief of urticaria (hives).

Ingredients

• Fexofenadine hydrochloride 120 mg

Direction

Adults and children 12 years and over: 1 tablet (120 mg) once daily. Swallow whole with water. Take on an empty stomach, or at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal, as food may reduce absorption. For chronic urticaria: 180 mg tablet once daily may be used.

Side effects

• Headache.
• Drowsiness (less common than older antihistamines).
• Nausea.
• Dizziness.
• Fatigue.
• Dry mouth.

Precautions

• Do not take with fruit juices (especially grapefruit
• orange
• or apple juice) as they can reduce absorption.
• Use with caution in patients with severe renal impairment.
• Not recommended for children under 12 years.
• Consult a doctor during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
• Avoid antacids containing aluminium or magnesium hydroxide within 2 hours of taking this medicine.
• Keep out of reach of children.
