Indication
Used for the short-term treatment of anxiety disorders and panic disorder.
Ingredients
- Alprazolam 0.5 mg
Direction
Adults: 0.25–0.5 mg three times daily. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration. Take with or without food.
Side effects
- Sedation / drowsiness
- Dizziness
- Memory impairment
- Ataxia
- Dependence and withdrawal symptoms
- Paradoxical reactions (agitation — rare)
Precautions
- Controlled substance — high potential for dependence and abuse.
- Contraindicated in acute narrow
- angle glaucoma
- severe respiratory insufficiency.
- Do not abruptly discontinue — taper to avoid withdrawal seizures.
- Avoid alcohol and other CNS depressants.
- Use with extreme caution in elderly — increased fall risk.
- Not recommended in pregnancy or breastfeeding.
