Paracetamol Injection Paracetamol 300mg/2ml

Indication

Paracetamol Injection is an analgesic and antipyretic indicated for the management of moderate pain and fever when the oral route is unavailable. Used in post-operative pain, fever management, and acute pain in hospital settings.

Ingredients

• Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) 300 mg per 2 ml

Direction

Adults: 300–600 mg by IV or deep IM injection every 4–6 hours as needed, up to a maximum of 4 g per day. Paediatric dosing: 15 mg/kg/dose every 4–6 hours. Administer slowly under medical supervision.

Side effects

• Generally well tolerated at therapeutic doses.
• Rarely: hypersensitivity
• skin reactions.
• Hepatotoxicity in overdose.
• Local injection site reactions.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in severe hepatic impairment.
• Do not exceed maximum daily dose — overdose causes fatal hepatotoxicity.
• Use with caution in hepatic impairment
• chronic alcoholism
• or malnutrition.
• Monitor for concurrent paracetamol in other medications.
• Keep out of reach of children.
